In verse 43 Jesus speaks across the distance of life and death to Lazarus to come out of the tomb.
When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out!" The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, "Take off the grave clothes and let him go."This is the same voice that said "Let there be light..." and the same voice that will be heard at the end of time.
1 Thes 4:16
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.I was blown away by what one commentator alluded to about Jesus' command - who (or what) would have come out of the grave if Jesus just said, "Come out!"?
