I don't know about you but last Saturday was the last time I saw sunlight. I remember the joy of the day because I invested all afternoon with my kids playing outside.
Sometime during the day we headed to a garage sale just up the block from our house. I was guiding tumbling Timmers up the road, along the curb, keeping him from nose-planting into the pavement. At one point I needed to steer him around some dried up road kill. Looked like a flattened squirrel. I was intrigued by how it looked like a rug on the road.
Timmers walked right by it without much notice. But he stopped a few steps beyond, turned back, pointed at the road rug and said "Eee-Eee Woo", again "Eee-Eee Woo". With no assistance around I tried my hand at translating. I am getting pretty skilled. I've learned that if Timmers gets all excited then I've nailed it and we've communicated. I thought about it for a moment and said "Timmers? Puppy Woof?" He freaked "Eee-Eee Woo, Eee-Eee Woo".

Yay Daddy! You cracked the code! :)
I think parents are bilingual. Very good of you to figure that out.
Oh my goodness... and that's English. What an adventure we'll have with translating Malayalam! We'll start praying now for wonder-ears. ;-)
Interesting that he didn't wonder why it was flat...maybe he did...will we ever know?
Years from now, Timmers is going to have a revelation...
